Hutchinson, KS : Two Hutch men injured after crash at 30th and Buhler Road on Sunday afternoon, February 19, 2017
Two men were sent to the hospital Sunday afternoon after being involved in a two-vehicle crash at 30th Avenue and Buhler Road.
Reno County Sheriff’s Deputy Kevin Sipe said Ronald Ediger, 57, rural Hutchinson, was driving a Dodge pickup north on Buhler Road when he was struck by an eastbound Pontiac Grand Prix driven by Joseph Thayer, 36, Hutchinson, that failed to stop at the stop sign.
The Pontiac spun around and came to a rest in the middle of Buhler Road. The impact of the crash caused the truck to go into the northeast ditch and roll once.
Nurses who were passing by stopped to help Thayer and his passenger, David Heim, 40, rural Buhler.
The men later were taken to Hutchinson Regional Medical Center with injuries at about 4:35 p.m. Ediger was not injured.
They were in fair condition at 9 p.m. on Sunday.
Thayer and Heim were not wearing their seat belts, according to the release.
The crash still is under investigation.
