Two people were injured, one seriously, after two cars collided Saturday night.
Deputy Chief Reed Scharman with the West Jordan Fire Department said the accident happened at the intersection of the Mountain View Corridor and 9000 south at about 7 p.m.
"There was a minivan with a husband, wife and three children northbound on Mountain View corridor," he said.
The second vehicle, a Red Honda with two passengers, was westbound on 9000 south. The cars collided in the intersection. The van was sent spinning and hit a pole. Scharman said police are still investigating the accident.
Scharman said the three children in the minivan were transported to the Riverton Hospital to be assessed but he said they seemed to be doing fairly well.
"The two in the other vehicle, one person was ejected, the other person had to be extricated," he said.
One was flown to the University of Utah Medical Center with serious injuries. The other was transported to Intermountain Medical Center with injuries, Scharman said.
