Police say a hit-and-run driver struck and killed a man crossing a southern New Jersey road.

The crash happened around 11:30 p.m. Monday in Pennsauken. Police say the man was crossing Route 130 when he was hit in the southbound lanes.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities didn't immediately identify him.

Investigators recovered the front bumper from the vehicle but haven't released a description of the car they're looking for.
