St. Croix County, WI : One Person killed in fiery one-vehicle crash after failed to negotiate a curve and struck trees on Friday night ,April 3rd 2015

One person has died following a fiery one-vehicle crash in St. Croix County.

According to the St. Croix County Sheriff's office, the accident happened around 11:42 p.m. Friday. A 1998 Chevrolet Lumina was heading south on County Highway A when it failed to negotiate a curve, left the roadway and went into a ditch, where it struck a tree.

The car then started on fire with the driver trapped inside. Emergency crews responded but were unable to extricate the driver, who was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver was the lone occupant of the car.

The driver was taken to the Ramsey County medical examiner's office and will be identified once relatives have been notified.
