Aspen, CO : Fatal car accident on Maroon Creek Road on Saturday, November 19th 2016

A single-vehicle accident on Maroon Creek Road that occurred early Saturday morning is being investigated by the Colorado State Patrol. One person died, according to Jesse Steindler, Pitkin County Sheriff’s Office patrol director. The victim’s name was not immediately available.

Steindler said dispatch received notice of the accident near mile marker 3 on Maroon Creek Road, just below the T Lazy 7 Ranch, around 3 a.m. on Saturday. Upon arrival, the driver was determined to be deceased and no CPR was administered.

The case was turned over to the state patrol’s in depth vehicle crash investigators around 5 a.m. on Nov. 19, Steindler said.
