Cass County, MO : 2 hurt in Cass County ATV crash on Sunday, 26th May 2019

The Cass County Sheriff's Office reports two people were injured in an ATV crash near Backus on Sunday night.

A release said the sheriff's office received a report around 6:09 p.m. from a Lake Shore police officer who had been in contact with a driver transporting two adult females who were involved in an ATV crash in the Foothills State Forest, near the Spider Lake Recreation Area.

The release said the driver, 19-year-old Tiffany Johnson of Backus, had been operating a 2013 Can Am Renegade ATV when it flipped over on herself and her passenger, 20-year-old Brooke Mendenwaldt of Backus. Johnson was transported by air to St. Cloud Hospital. Mendenwaldt was transported to a hospital in Brainerd.

Both had injuries that are considered serious, the release said.
