SUNNYSIDE, WA : Zillah man killed in single-vehicle crash on Interstate 82 on Wednesday, 11th July 2018

A 44-year-old Zillah man was killed when his SUV drifted off Interstate 82 and crashed Wednesday afternoon, the Washington State Patrol said.

William R. Thomas was driving a Jeep Cherokee east on I-82 near Sunnyside around 1:50 p.m. when he drifted across the median of the highway and struck railroad tracks, according to a State Patrol news release. The Cherokee came to rest on its roof on an embankment.Troopers said intoxicants were not a factor in the crash.
