Lincoln, NE: Two Vehicle Crash Slows Traffic Outside Waverly on Tuesday, July 21th 2015
A two vehicle crash on Highway 6 near Waverly backed up traffic around 4:00 p.m. Tuesday afternoon, just off the I-80 interchange.The Lancaster County Sheriff's Office said a car was trying to turn west onto Highway 6 when a truck heading east ran a light, causing the crash.The truck, hauling large chunks of cement, turned onto its side blocking both westbound lanes on Highway 6. The car ended up in the east ditch, severely damaged.An ambulance took the two passengers inside the car to a Lincoln hospital where they were treated and released.The Lancaster County Sheriff's Office and Nebraska State Patrol directed traffic following the crash.Westbound lanes of Highway 6 reopened around 6:00 p.m. Tuesday night.The driver of the truck was ticketed for violating the traffic light.
