Nashville, TN : One person killed when their motorcycle collided with another vehicle in south Nashville on Monday afternoon, May 16, 2016
Police have identified the motorcyclist who was killed in a crash in south Nashville Monday afternoon.
James Cloninger, 27, riding a 2016 Suzuki when he collided with a 2002 GMC Yukon on Thompson Lane around 2:30 p.m.
According to the Metro Nashville Police Department, Cloninger had just passed a van when he hit the SUV, which was turning left onto Eugenia Avenue.
Cloninger tried to brake but lost control. He died at the scene.
Police said they believe Cloninger was speeding, which they consider to be the primary cause of the crash.
