Adamsville, AL : Updated: Pedestrian killed in Adamsville truck accident, alcohol may have been a factor on April 28th 2014
32-year-old Joseph Pool of Gardendale was arrested and charged with manslaughter after an accident Friday morning left a pedestrian dead in Adamsville.
According to the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office, deputies responded at 9:30 a.m. to a report of a pedestrian hit by a truck at Forestdale Boulevard and Hedgewood Drive in Adamsville.
Investigators say the victim was walking along Highway 78 near Hedgewood Drive when a pickup veered off the road and hit him. The adult male victim was pronounced dead on the scene.
Alcohol is believed to have been a factor in the accident.
Joseph Pool is being held at the Jefferson County Jail in lieu of $30,000 bond.
The victim's identity has not yet been released.
