Sarasota, FL : One person died in a crash involving a tanker truck on Interstate 75 near Sarasota on Tuesday, March 29, 2016

The Florida Highway Patrol says the driver of a tanker truck is dead following a crash on Interstate 75 near Sarasota.

The crash happened just before 3:30 a.m. Tuesday.

Troopers say the southbound lanes of the interstate were closed for several hours.

It was not clear what caused the crash.
