BROWNSVILLE, TX : 5 people hospitalized after multi-vehicle crash near SpaceX on Thursday, 18th April 2024

Five people are in critical condition after a three-vehicle accident occurred on a state highway near SpaceX, according to the Brownsville Fire Department.

The accident happened at 7:30 a.m. Thursday off State Highway 4 heading towards Boca Chica.

Assistant Chief Eugenio Cardenas with the Brownsville Fire Department says the three vehicles involved in the accident were a 18-wheeler, a red Jeep and a white Silverado pick-up truck.

The Texas Department of Transportation says the accident happened after the Jeep passed on a no-passing zone and struck the 18-wheeler, which then went head-on with the Silverado.
