SMYRNA, GA : 1 killed in head-on crash on S. Cobb Drive in Cobb County on Tuesday, 8th October 2024

Two people died in a head-on crash on South Cobb Drive Tuesday morning, according to the Smyrna Police Department.

At around 3:30 a.m., Smyrna police were called to the intersection of South Cobb Drive SE and South Cobb Industrial Boulevard SE. Officers believe a vehicle driving northbound on South Cobb Drive crossed the grass median into southbound traffic on South Cobb Drive, colliding with another car going south.

The driver and passenger of the car that crossed over died. The driver of the other car had minor injuries, according to police.

All lanes of South Cobb Drive from South Cobb Industrial Boulevard to Calibre Lake Parkway were closed for hours during the investigation. The crash has since cleared, and all lanes are back open.
