Authorities said a Harriman man died Friday after a high-speed crash.
Authorities would not address reports the crash resulted from a police chase.
Martin Palenski, 37, was driving a Ford Taurus on state Highway 61 West when he ran off the road during a right turn around 12:36 p.m., according to a Tennessee Highway Patrol report. The car spun out of control, hit an embankment on the right side of the road and went rolling, THP Trooper Loren Humphrey wrote in a report.
Palenski was hurled from the vehicle and killed. He was not wearing a seatbelt, according to the report.
Julia Davis, 41, of Kingston, was in the passenger seat during the wreck. The report said she was injured but did not describe the severity of those injuries or her current condition. She wore a seatbelt.
THP Lt. Don Boshears referred questions about a police chase to the Oliver Springs Police Department. An Oliver Springs dispatcher would not discuss the chase.
