A woman involved in a three-vehicle crash Tuesday morning has died, Winston-Salem police said in a news release.
Jackqulyn De Vee Reid, 36, of the 900 block of New Hope Lane died on Wednesday, police said.
On Tuesday, Reid attempted to drive a Dodge Magnum between a Volkswagen Jetta and a stopped Winston-Salem State University shuttle van. She hit both vehicles and ran off the road to the right. The Magnum then rolled over and struck a utility pole, according to police.
The initial investigation of the crash in the 1300 block of South Martin Luther King Jr. Drive revealed that the WSSU van, operated by Melissa Waller and carrying two passengers, was stopped in the right lane in a designated shuttle stop.
A Jetta, driven by Takira Antoinette Trapp, 22, was slowing down in the left lane to make a left turn.
Reid attempted to pass between the van and the Jetta and struck both vehicles.
