Sidney, MT : Sidney man dies in vehicle crash on Thursday, 6th October 2016
A coach in the Sidney community passed away in a one-vehicle crash north of Fairview on Thursday afternoon.
Damon McLaughlin, 44, was the head coach for Sidney High School’s softball team and the Richland Rangers’ girls hockey squad. He was also a middle school football coach in Sidney along with being a high school football referee.
According to the North Dakota Highway Patrol, McLaughlin’s Ford F-150 was southbound on Highway 58 when the vehicle entered the ditch and struck a utility pole. He was taken by the Fairview ambulance to the Sidney Health Center where he was pronounced dead.
The accident occurred at 2 p.m. (central time) four miles north of Fairview.
Agencies responding were the North Dakota Highway Patrol, McKenzie County Sheriff Office and Fairview Fire and Rescue.
