San Diego, CA : Good Samaritan struck by car while helping SR-94 crash early Friday morning, August 26, 2016

A Good Samaritan who stopped to help a driver who was involved car wreck on State Route 94 in Golden Hill was then himself struck by a car early Friday morning.

At around 2:30 a.m. two cars collided on westbound State Route 94, east of 30th Avenue. Randy Fisher, a Navy shipyard worker on his way to work, witnessed the crash and stopped to help a woman who was in one of the cars.

As Fisher was assisting the woman, a third car traveling west on SR-94 slammed into him as he scrambled in vain to get out of the way.

"That car up there came flying, I mean moving, and I saw it, and I turned to get out of the way to run," Fisher told 10News. "And I'm running this way towards the ice plant, but I couldn't clear the corner of the car quick enough, and it hit me and threw me into an ice plant.”

Remarkably, Fisher was able to get up and walk around just minutes after the crash. He refused to be taken to a hospital for evaluation.

One female driver was transported to a hospital with unknown injuries. The other two drivers were not seriously hurt.

California Highway Patrol is investigating.
