Logansport, IN : A single-vehicle crash on westbound U.S. 24 on Wednesday, August 16, 2017
A single-vehicle crash on westbound U.S. 24 sent a Monticello man to the hospital late Wednesday morning.
Cass County Sheriff's Department Deputy Brian Swartzell said a tan Chevrolet Blazer driven by Rick M. Elizabeth, 59, was traveling westbound on U.S. 24 when it ran off the south side of the road and came to rest in a ditch. Elizabeth has diabetes, Swartzell said, and his blood sugar was low at the time of the crash. Elizabeth suffered a minor cut to his upper right arm, and police said he was transported by ambulance to Logansport Memorial Hospital to help stabilize his blood sugar level. Along with the sheriff's department, Georgetown Fire Department and Prompt Ambulance Service also responded to the scene.
