Seattle, WA : Motorcyclist seriously injured in Seattle crash near the intersection of MLK Jr. Way South and East Pike Street on Monday, September 8, 2014
A 30-year-old motorcyclist has been hospitalized after being struck by a car.
Police and medics were called to Martin Luther Junior King Way South and South Pike Street at 12:49 p.m. The rider was stuck beneath the car when authorities arrived.
“It took us three minutes to get the car off the patient. He suffered trauma all over his body,” said Seattle Fire Department spokesman Kyle Moore. “He was transported to Harborview Medical Center in serious condition.”
Seattle police spokesman Drew Fowler said police have arrested someone in connection with the crash. Details on a cause of the crash have not been released.
Traffic in the area is being re-routed while police investigate.
