Fort Collins, CO : Motorcyclist dies in College Avenue crash on Monday night, July 18, 2016

A motorcyclist died after a single-vehicle crash late Monday night.

According to Fort Collins police, a 23-year-old man was driving his motorcycle around 10:44 p.m. south in the 1800 block of South College Avenue when he lost control and collided with a planter box. The man was transported to the Medical Center of the Rockies in Loveland where he died.

The motorcyclist’s identity has not been released.

Southbound College Avenue was closed for approximately 4 1/2 hours while the Fort Collins Police CRASH Team investigated the incident. Police believe speed was a contributing factor.
