Syracuse, IN : 2 killed, 3 injured in suspected street racing crash on Sunday evening, December 25, 2016

Northern Indiana police say a woman and her son were killed and three others were injured in a head-on crash that may have stemmed from a street racing incident.

The Kosciusko (kahs-ee-AHS’-koh) County Sheriff’s Department says preliminary information indicates one of the vehicles was racing in the wrong lane before Sunday evening’s crash in the city of Syracuse.

The Journal Gazette reports witnesses told police that 26-year-old Mickgomery W. Hisey of Syracuse had begun passing another car on a hill crest when his car struck another car head-on, critically injuring its driver, 67-year-old Stephen T. Conrad of Syracuse.

Conrad’s 61-year-old wife, Kimberly, and 32-year-old son, Stephen T. Conrad II, died at the scene.

Hisey was hospitalized in critical condition and his passenger, 23-year-old Brody Jordan, was in serious condition.
