ATWOOD, KS : 20-year-old Kansas man killed in Atwood crash on Thursday, 21st August 2024

A 20-year-old Kansas man is dead after a crash in Atwood on Thursday night.

The Kansas Highway Patrol says around 8:30 p.m. Thursday, a 1997 Ford was traveling eastbound on Atwood Cemetery Road when, for unknown reasons, the car left the roadway to the right and struck a concrete bridge pillar. The car spun and came to rest in the ditch.

The driver and only occupant of the vehicle, 20-year-old Mitchell Howard of Bird City, was pronounced dead at the scene.
