STAFFORD, NY : A man was killed Thursday in a head-on collision on Clinton Street on Thursday, December, 28th 2017

A man was killed Thursday in a head-on collision on Clinton Street Road between his sedan and a tractor-trailer.

The identity of the deceased has not been released.

According to officers at the scene, the accident was caused when his eastbound vehicle drifted into the westbound lane. After striking the tractor-trailer, the sedan spun off the south side of the road and run into a utility pole.

The tractor trailer went off the north side of the road and into a ditch. The driver of the larger vehicle was treated at the scene for minor injuries.

Responders were called out at around 12:25 p.m. to 5860 Clinton Street Road, which is east of the highway’s Thruway overpass. The road has been closed in the vicinity of the accident.

Crews from Stafford, Bergen, Byron, South Byron were among the responders.
