Knoxville, TN : One person killed in crash on Interstate 75 in Loudon County on Tuesday, July 12, 2016
At least one person was killed Tuesday in a multivehicle crash on Interstate 75 in Loudon County that tied up traffic for hours, the Tennessee Highway Patrol confirmed.
Mark Nagi, spokesman for the Tennessee Department of Transportation, tweeted earlier in the day that the crash was near mile marker 81 in Loudon County.
The crash also caused backups on Interstate 40/75 in West Knox County that lasted for several hours until the wreck was cleared.
Both lanes of Interstate 75 were reopened shortly before 3 p.m., he said.
No additional details were released about the accident or whether anyone else was injured.
