Hamden,CT : New Haven woman struck pedestrian in hit-and-run crash on Saturday, 2nd May, 2020

A 33-year-old New Haven woman was charged with striking a man on a bicycle with her car and then fleeing the scene on Saturday afternoon.
Police said Daphney Townsend, 33, of Dewitt Street, was driving west on Goodrich Street around 4:30 p.m. on Saturday when she struck a 25-year-old man who was riding a bicycle on the Farmington Canal Trail.
Townsend fled the scene before officers arrived, police said.
The bicyclist was transported to Yale-New Haven Hospital with injuries to his back and ribs, police said.
Police later located the suspect vehicle and Townsend at nearby Hamden residence.
