The identity of the woman involved in the fatal Lexington County crash has been released.
According to the Lexington County Coroner's Office, 24-year-old Shalonda Monique Duncan of Gaston was pronounced dead at the scene due to injuries suffered in the accident.
At approximately 3:45 a.m. Thursday, Duncan was traveling alone and heading west on Highway 302 near Old Orangeburg Road when her vehicle ran off the left side of the road and crashed into several other cars.
Duncan was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected from the vehicle.
An autopsy is scheduled to determine the cause of death.
The Lexington County Coroner's Office as well as the South Carolina Highway Patrol are investigating this incident.
