POLKTON TOWNSHIP, MI : WB I-96 closed near Coopersville due to crash on Wednesday, 27th September 2023

One person is dead following a crash on I-96 near Coopersville Wednesday morning, according to the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office.

At 9:54 a.m., deputies responded to a report of a crash westbound on I-96 west of 68th Avenue in Polkton Township.

An investigation revealed that a car driving west on I-96 was hit from behind by another vehicle, causing it to go off of the road and turn over.

The 30-year-old driver was pinned in the vehicle. After Polkton and Allendale firefighters got the driver out, the driver was was pronounced dead at the scene.
