COLUMBIA, SC : 1 person killed in crash near Swansea on Wednesday, 28th February 2024

One person died in a crash near Swansea in Lexington County.

The crash happened at 12:15 p.m. four miles south of Swansea at Whetstone Road, according to South Carolina Highway Patrol Trooper William Bennett.

Authorities said a pick-up truck driver ran off the road to the right, over-corrected, then ran off the road to the left. He then overturned, hit a tree and crashed.

Bennett said in a release that the driver was declared dead at the scene.
