A 19-year-old driver died and two other teenagers were hurt in a single-vehicle crash off Decoursey Pike early Thursday, Kenton County police said.
Aircare flew to the scene to transport the 19-year-old to University of Cincinnati Medical Center, but left without him several minutes later, Aircare confirmed early Thursday.
Brant Bowling of Morningview was pronounced dead at the medical helicopter landing zone off Decoursey, police confirmed.
He lost control of his 2009 Chevrolet Impala about 2 a.m. in the 13000 block of Decoursey Pike, police wrote in a prepared statement.
The vehicle ran about 200 yards off the road and slammed head-on into a tree, according to police.
Bowling and his two passengers were not wearing seat belts.
Fire crews extricated Bowling and took him to the medical helicopter, but he succumbed to his injuries.
The passengers suffered what appeared to be non-life threatening injuries and were taken by ambulance to Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center.
Their conditions were not available.
It was not immediately clear what led up to the crash.
