Middletown, OH : Woman killed and another woman injured in a two-vehicle crash in Middletown on Sunday evening, June 26, 2016

A woman was killed and another woman was injured in a two-vehicle crash in Middletown Sunday evening.

According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, a 2002 green Honda Accord operated by Tonya R. Miller, 52, of Middleton, was traveling westbound on Roosevelt Boulevard at a high rate of speed. Miller lost control of the vehicle and it crossed the grassy median and spun into the eastbound lanes of Roosevelt, where it was struck by a GMC Envoy on the passenger side.

Miller was not wearing a safety belt and was ejected from the driver’s side of the vehicle, according to officials. She was pronounced dead on scene.

The driver of the Envoy, identified as Cecilia M. Kakaris, 54, of Middletown, was taken to Atrium Hospital with minor injuries.

Speed and failure to wear a safety belt are contributing factors to the crash. Neither alcohol or drugs are suspected, according to officials.
