San Antonio, TX : 18-wheeler crashes into NW Side motel on Wednesday, December, 20th 2017

An 18-wheeler crashed into a Northwest Side motel on Wednesday, damaging multiple vehicles and requiring a hazmat response.

The crash was first reported around noon at the Fiesta Inn & Suites Motel in the 4900 block of Northwest Loop 410.

San Antonio Police Sgt. Steve Priore said a driver in a Chevrolet SUV made a turn from John William onto the access road of Loop 410 right in front of the 18-wheeler, causing a collision.

That caused the big rig driver to lose control and careen off the road and into the parking lot of the motel, smashing through at least four vehicles and a light pole before coming to a stop.
