23-year-old Harvinder Singh from California was traveling northbound on 395 when he attempted to pass a truck hauling an RV trailer. The Acura and the Honda collided head on when they crashed in the southbound travel lane.

Singh was pronounced dead on scene and both Lawlors were transported to Renown. Daniel Lawlor is in critical condition, according to NHP officials. Jeffrey Lawlor has already been released from the hospital.

The truck lost the RV trailer during the crash, but no one was hurt.

NHP officials said alcohol & drugs are not being considered as a factor right now. and all occupants were wearing seat belts. The only factor that is being considered as a cause of the crash was an unsafe pass. Singh was in a legal passing zone when he attempted to pass.
