Keensburg , CO ; One Woman was killed and two others were Hospitalized with injures after traffic crash in southeastern Weld County on Saturday, December 20th 2014

A woman was killed Saturday afternoon in a traffic crash in southeastern Weld County, and two men were hospitalized with serious bodily injuries.

The crash happened about 3:45 p.m. Saturday on Colo. 52 and Weld County Road 63, about three miles southeast of Keenesburg, Weld County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Sgt. Sean Standridge said, noting deputies initially responded to the scene, but turned over the investigation of the crash to the Colorado State Patrol.

State Patrol spokesman Trooper Nate Reid said the crash was a head-on collision that occurred when a woman driving a Saturn Ion sedan crossed over the center double-yellow line and collided head-on with a Ford F-150 pickup truck.

Reid said the woman died at the scene of the crash, and the two men, who were in the Ford, were taken to University Hospital in Aurora.

Colo. 52 was closed in both directions for nearly four hours while authorities worked to clear the crash and investigate. The names of those involved in the crash, as well as any other details about the crash were not immediately available, Reid said.

The woman is the 51st person to die on Weld roads this year. Through this date last year, 35 people had been killed.
