DUNDEE TOWNSHIP, MI : Woman killed in Dundee crash on Saturday, 8th October 2016
A Dundee woman was killed in a two-vehicle accident this afternoon.
The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office identified the victim as Korri E. Lake, 38, of Dundee. She was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.
The accident occurred around 1:30 p.m. at Dixon and Wells Rds. in Dundee Township. The investigation showed that a 2015 Dodge Ram pickup truck driven by Robert E. McLaughlin, 55, of Newport was northbound on Wells Rd. when the driver reportedly failed to stop at the stop sign.
The pickup entered the intersection and collided with the Lake car, a 2008 Ford Focus, which was westbound on Dixon. The pickup hit the driver’s side door of Ms. Lake’s car.
Neither Mr. McLaughlin nor his front seat passenger, Suzanne J. Santos, age 52, of Newport, were injured in the crash.
Deputies said alcohol was not a factor in the accident.
Assisting at the scene were the Dundee Township Volunteer Fire Department and Monroe Community Ambulance.
The crash remains under investigation by Deputy Kurt Potratz along with Deputies Brian Quinn, David Raymond and Jon Cregar of the Traffic Services Division. Anyone with information about the accident is asked to call (734) 240-7493.
