Boulder, CO : 66-year-old Longmont man killed in motorcycle crash on Sunday, January 1st 2017
A 66-year-old Longmont man died this afternoon at Longmont United Hospital following a two-vehicle crash on Main Street.
The man, whose name wasn't released pending notification of relatives, was riding his motorcycle southbound on Main Street near Tenacity Drive when an SUV pulled a u-turn in front of him and the two vehicles collided at about 2:15 p.m., said Longmont police Sgt. Eric Lewis.
Lewis said the SUV was driven by a 65-year-old woman, whose name also wasn't released.
The accident is still under investigation, but speed, drugs and alcohol aren't suspected as contributing factors, he said.
Southbound Main Street was closed at Pike Road this afternoon while officers investigated.
The Boulder County Coroner's Office will release the man's name and cause of death, Lewis said.
