Pottstown, PA : Two people injured after car crashes into Pottstown home on Sunday, May 1, 2016

Two people suffered minor injuries after a car drove into a home along the 200 block of Wilson Street around 8 p.m. Sunday.

Police say a 2001 BMW crashed into the side porch of home at 214 Wilson St. after fishtailing on the wet roadway and sliding across a nearby yard. Reports from the scene indicated that the driver and the passenger were trapped in the vehicle for 45 minutes as rescuers attempted to get them out. The residence was occupied at the time but there were no injuries. There was minor structural damage to the porch, police said.

The driver, 19-year-old Patrick McVeigh, of Sanatoga, suffered minor injuries and was transported by Goodwill Ambulance to Reading Hospital for further evaluation and treatment. The passenger, 20-year-old Ashley Wagner, of Gilbertsville, was transported by Goodwill Ambulance to Pottstown Memorial Medical Center with minor injuries, police said.

The crash remains under investigation.
