A man was killed Monday night after a two-car crash on S.C. 31 and three others were taken to a local hospital.
William Johnson Jr., 68, of North Myrtle Beach was transported to Grand Strand Medical Center where he died at 11:08 p.m., according to Tamara Willard, deputy coroner with Horry County.
The crash happened about 9:50 p.m. on S.C. 31 North just south of Robert Grissom Parkway, authorities said.
A 2003 Chevrolet pulling a trailer, and traveling north, pulled over on S.C. 31 near the Robert Grissom Parkway exit to check on the trailer. The truck was then rear-ended by Johnson, who was wearing his seatbelt and driving a 2007 Chevrolet

The Tahoe then went down an embankment, SCHP authorities said.
Three people traveling in the 2003 pickup truck were also taken to a hospital for treatment, SCHP officials said.
The highway patrol is still investigating the crash, and no charges had been filed immediately after the incident.
