Salem,OR : Teen crashes stolen car into power pole in NE Salem on January, Monday 5th 2018
A stolen car driven by a 17-year-old girl took out a power pole Monday near Williams Avenue NE and Silverton Road, Lt. Chris Baldridge of Marion County Sherriff's Office said.
Deputies located the stolen 1997 Cadillac Escalade around 4 p.m. Monday.
When the driver failed to pull over, the officers laid down spike strips. After the Escalade rolled over the strips, the driver "took off at a high rate," he said, and soon after crashed into the pole, knocking it over.
The teenager was arrested for unlawful use of a motor vehicle and attempting to elude police and was taken to Marion County Juvenile Detention Center. No injuries were reported.
