Dover, DE : 24-year-old dies after motorcycle crash on Tuesday, 10th September 2019

A 24-year-old Dover man died after a crash on Dupont highway Tuesday morning, according to a Delaware State Police release.

The man drove a 2013 Augusta Sport motorcycle south on Dupont Highway just south of Messina Hill Road, while a 2004 Ford Excursion was driving in front him, police said.

The 24-year-old passed the Excursion on the left and lost control. The man was then ejected from the motorcycle and landed in the left lane, police said.

A 2002 Ford Explorer was driving in the same direction and hit the man where he landed in the left lane.

The operator of the motorcycle was taken to the Christiana Hospital where he died from his injuries. His name is being withheld at this time pending the notification of next of kin, police said.
