MEMPHIS, TN : 2 of 3 drivers refused to stop in fatal hit-and-run on Tuesday, January 17th 2017

One person was hit by a car and killed near Lamar Avenue and Bellevue Boulevard.

The crash happened around 5:45 a.m.

Memphis Police Department said pedestrian Gentry Wright, 40, was walking in the crosswalk across Lamar Avenue at Bellevue Boulevard.

A white tractor trailer crashed into him first, but two other cars also hit Wright.

Only one driver stayed on the scene after the crash. That driver called 911. Still, that driver was issued a ticket for not having proper insurance.

The drivers of the tractor trailer and the other car that hit Wright have not been identified.
