Two people were critically injured Friday night when their vehicles crashed head-on, the New York State Police said.

State police said a man and a woman were driving vehicles in opposite directions when they crashed head-on with each other.

One vehicle ended up on the west side of the road while the other came to rest off the east side of the road. Both vehicles suffered heavy damage in the crash, which hurled debris across the road.
