Orlando ,FL:Vehicle involved in officer hit-and-run found burned on Monday morning ,July 13th 2015

A vehicle used to hit an officer during a traffic stop was found burned and with a shattered windshield on Monday, according to the Orlando Police Department.

"I can tell you this, I am sick and tired of people running from police; not following police orders, " said Orlando Police Chief John Mina.

Mina is angry that someone would run over one of his officers.

Around 2:45 a.m. Monday, officer William Anderson, an eight-year veteran, was working off-duty as security at a McDonald's in the 5400 block of South Kirkman Road when he pulled over a car right outside the restaurant.

"Every traffic stop is unknown. The officer doesn't know what he's faced with when he conducts a traffic stop," Sgt. Wanda Ford said.

Ford said as the officer walked toward the car, the passenger opened the door and ran.

The officer then walked around the front of the car. That's when the driver put his foot on the gas and hit him.

"Not only is our officer hurt, this person is basically facing attempted murder charges as far as I'm concerned," Mina said.

The officer fired a shot, but no one was hit.

Mina said the officer is expected to be OK, he's just in a lot of pain.
