Edwardsville,IL : Estate of woman killed in Hamel I-55 crash files seven-count suit on January, Wednesday 17th 2018

The estate of an Alhambra woman killed in a Nov. 21 truck-car crash on Interstate 55 in Hamel has filed suit against the driver of the truck, Keller Construction of Glen Carbon and the driver’s employer.

The estate of Tori Rene Carroll, 20, claims that driver Mohamed Yussuf Jama was driving too fast for conditions and failed to swerve or stop to avoid colliding the a 2010 Kia Forte in which Carroll was a passenger. Jama was driving a tractor-trailer truck. The truck allegedly went over the top of the Kia.

The suit also claims Keller Construction failed to design a proper construction zone, failed to place warning signals and allegedly failed to re-open the closed lanes of the construction site on an interstate highway.
