Homosassa, FL : Two people was killed in car crash on Monday October 27th 2014.
A Missouri woman and her passenger from Indiana were killed Monday night after colliding head-on with another car travelling in the wrong lanes of U.S. 19
Marianne J. Campbell, 51, of Fort Lauderdale was driving south in the northbound lanes of U.S. 19 toward South Stonebrook Drive north of Homosassa, according to a Florida Highway Patrol accident report.
Ruby Pearl Ray, 74, and passenger Greta Overbay, 75, were travelling north in the northbound lanes of U.S. 19 just north of South Stonebrook Drive and collided head-on with Campbell’s vehicle.
Ray was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash and passenger Overbay was transported to Seven Rivers Regional Medical Center, where she later died from injuries.
Campbell was transported to Ocala Regional hospital and is in critical condition.
According to the report, it’s unclear as to where Campbell crossed over onto the northbound lanes of U.S. 19 and whether alcohol contributed to the accident.
