GREER, SC : Driver killed after striking guy wire, flipping truck on Sunday, December 10th, 2016

The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating a collision that claimed the life of a driver in Greenville County on Sunday night.

Troopers said the collision occurred just before 10:30 p.m. on Reid School Road near Wade Hampton Boulevard.

The driver of a GMC pickup truck reportedly ran off the right side of the road and struck a telephone pole guy wire, overturning the truck. Troopers said the driver was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected from the vehicle.

The driver, who has not get been identified, succumbed to injuries at the scene.

The crash remains under investigation.
