Lake County ,FL : Two men killed and another man critically hurt in crash on Tuesday ,August 25th 2015

Two men are dead and another man was critically hurt in a crash Tuesday, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

The crash involving two vehicles happened after 6 p.m. Tuesday at U.S. 27 and Highland Lakes Boulevard in Lake County.

A Honda van was stopped at a stop sign, westbound on Highland Lakes Boulevard. Troopers said a Toyota vehicle was traveling north on U.S. 27 in the left through lane.
As the Honda attempted to make a left turn to travel south on U.S. 27, the vehicle pulled into the direct path of the Toyota, troopers said. The front of the Toyota struck the left side of the Honda.

A 77-year-old man from The Villages who was driving the Honda was pronounced dead, along with a 72-year-old Leesburg man who was a passenger inside the Honda, according to FHP.

Troopers said another passenger inside the Honda was hurt. He was taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center with critical injuries. The driver of the Toyota suffered minor injuries.

According to FHP's report, everyone involved in the crash wore a seat belt and alcohol was not involved. The crash remains under investigation.
