Man who was hit and killed by car crash near Randolph, New Jersey

Police have identified the 27-year-old Randolph man who was killed when he was hit by a car while walking across Route 10 west early Tuesday morning.Andrew Longshore was pronounced dead at Saint Clare's Hospital in Dover, police said, after Louis Savarese, 66, also of Randolph, struck him with his vehicle in the right lane approaching the Millbrook Avenue exit.

Savarese wasn't hurt, police said, and he wasn't charged with anything."It seems like a tragic accident at this point," Sgt. Keith Donovan said.

"It doesn't appear like any liquor or drugs were involved, but this is just a preliminary investigation in its infancy."Donovan said it was unclear why the man was walking on the highway.
