GARNER, NC : 1 dead in crash involving motorcycle in Garner near the intersection of Benson Road/N.C. 50 at Garner Road on Sunday, 9th June 2019

One person died in a two-vehicle crash involving a motorcycle in Garner on Sunday afternoon, police say.

The incident happened around 4 p.m. near the intersection of Benson Road/N.C. 50 at Garner Road, according to Garner Police Capt. Joe Binns.

The motorcyclist was heading east on Garner Road and the car involved was heading south from Broughton Street toward N.C. 50, according to Binns.

An occupant of one of the vehicles died.

Both vehicles caught fire and burned after the crash, Binns said.
