Omaha, NE : 35 - Years old woman driver Killed and another injured in Crash after struck the right rear of the Taurus on Friday, February 27th 2015
Omaha police have identified the driver who was killed in a crash in Midtown on Friday evening.
According to police, the driver of a Ford Taurus was heading north on 52nd Street, approaching Farnam Street around 5:30 p.m.
Witnesses said the driver of the Taurus illegally passed other vehicles that were stopped and waiting at a northbound red light and the entered the Farnam Street intersection.
A Chevy Impala heading west on Farnam Street struck the right rear of the Taurus, sending it into a tree just north of the intersection.
The restrained driver, identified as Lerosha Vaneese Forrest, 35, died at the scene.
Her passenger, Ronnie Forrest, 43, suffered severe head injuries and was taken to the Nebraska Medical Center for treatment.
A 1-month-old female infant, who was in a car seat, was uninjured, police said.
The driver of the Chevy was also uninjured.
Authorities said speed is a factor in the crash.
