TURLOCK, CA : 6 injured in ambulance crash at Turlock intersection on Friday, 26th July 2019

Five people were injured and one was killed in Turlock after an ambulance was involved in a crash and rolled over Thursday night, officials said.

The crash happened around 9:30 p.m. at the intersection of N. Golden State Boulevard and W. Monte Vista Avenue, the Turlock Fire Department said.The ambulance was transporting a 68-year-old bicyclist who was hit by a vehicle to a Modesto hospital from E. Hawkeye and N. Olive avenues when the crash happened. The man was riding a bicycle on the roadway just outside the crosswalk when he was hit by a 19-year-old driver, police said.

Turlock police said the ambulance was then hit by another vehicle and rolled over. Police said the driver of the other vehicle, a 62-year-old man, was driving south on N. Golden State Boulevard when he hit the ambulance.

The 68-year-old man inside the ambulance was transported by another ambulance to the hospital, but he later died, the Turlock Police Department said Friday.
